Who are you?

 

You have a telecom engineering degree or equivalent (telecommunications engineering school or School of electronics). You have technical skills confirmed in the telecommunications or IT environment, demonstrating end-to-end knowledge in communications network technologies, particularly in all or part of the Access Network, Transmission Network, IP Core Network, or Network Management System & Provisioning aspects. Knowledge of cybersecurity and software development would be a plus.

You demonstrate:

  • Willingness to work in the field of deployment, operation and maintenance services in mobile solutions end to end, as GSM-R (products and services) and next-gen and FRMCS; Interest in the eco-system of radio solutions in the world of Railway Communications Systems: Terminals, Networks and Dispatchers.
  • You have the motivation to learn and adapt legacy solutions to emerging technology trends.

What we can accomplish together:

We are offering you the opportunity to join the "Service Delivery Management" team working on all the Kontron Transportation Group's, mainly with customer projects in Portugal, involving national and international players, as a Junior Service Delivery Engineer. As part of this team, you will be in regular contact with our customers, representing our technological know-how to them, and you will inform the technical and management teams of their specific requirements.

In this role, you will have to:

  • Within the scope of maintenance activities,

- Ensure the company's technical response to the customer in dealing with anomalies and incidents; interact with them to gather the information needed for the investigation and coordinate the investigation efforts of Kontron Transportation (Services Delivery and R&D organizations) and its partners to achieve the contractual resolution objectives.

- Participate in regular meetings with customers as Kontron Transportation's technical representative and take part in the 24/7 technical support rotation; anticipate customer escalation and keep their hierarchy informed of risk situations.

  • As part of the implementation activities,

-  Ensure that the work package(s) assigned to you are completed within the budget and timescales agreed with the project manager and within accordance with the contract specifications - provide the project manager with regular progress reports.

- Define and document the end-to-end commissioning, integration, testing and acceptance procedures for the network or part of the network - and obtain the customer's agreement to these procedures through the acceptance working group (internal, external) that you lead.

- Carrying out the commissioning, integration, testing, and acceptance tasks and obtaining customer acceptance; coordinating the efforts of Kontron Transportation and its partners to resolve problems encountered during commissioning, integration, or testing.

  • In general,

- You will develop your knowledge of our customers' networks and their specific features to increase the efficiency of Kontron Transportation; you will gain product expertise and new technologies to maximize the activities carried out by the SDM team.

- Report to the project manager any requests from the customer or partners that do not comply with the contract (pre-requisites not met, delays in execution, requests outside the technical specifications of the contract, etc.) or any risks or difficult situations that require his or her attention.

- Report to your functional manager on the progress of your assignment, share feedback, and participate in the continuous improvement of the engineering, commissioning, integration, and acceptance processes.

This position requires regular travel in the country and sometimes abroad.
