Shift2Rail

Shift2Rail is the European rail initiative under the Horizon 2020 umbrella to seek new market-driven solutions driven by research and innovation activities supported by European railway infrastructure managers, supply industry partners and research centers. 

Shift2Rail has the ambitious target to meet the evolving needs of the transport sectors. The second goal is to make the rail system more efficient while at the same time aiming to double capacity, increase reliability and significantly reducing life-cycle costs.

Kontron Transportation is an associated member in the joint undertaking with focus on the IP2 X2Rail projects. Our experts lead the activities in the technology demonstrator for the adaptable communication system and are contributing in the zero-onsite testing and cyber security activities.
