Based on the best-in-class Hailo-8™ AI accelerator in combination with X86-based Intel® Core™ or Celeron® processors the maintenance-free, fanless and battery-free KBox A-150-WKL-AI-H8 was developed as an high performance AI inference gateway for advanced Edge AI solutions. The smart platform guarantees best-in-class AI performance and versatile interfaces for IoT gateway-applications.
The integrated advanced Hailo-8™ AI processor, performing at 26 tera-operations per second (TOPS) at a typical power consumption of less than 2.5 watts, enables the new system to run at performance levels previously only possible in the cloud. This offers customers a new level of high-performance, scalable AI-edge applications. The KBox A-150-WKL-AI-H8 is perfectly suitable for a wide range of market segments such as Industry 4.0, smart cities, smart retail and more.
Along with preinstalled drivers and BSP, the complete software toolchain is available under Hailo’s developer zone website. Hailo’s developer zone includes numerous pre-trained neural networks (“model zoo”), a bit–accurate simulator and performance tool, the Hailo dataflow compiler, and the Hailo “Tappas” high performance application toolkit, enabling the highly efficient implementation of innovative AI solutions at reduced time-to-market and engineering costs.
The hardware platform of the KBox A-150-WKL-AI-H8 is equipped with Intel® Core™ i3-8145UE/i5-8365UE/i7-8665UE or Celeron® 4305UE processors with up to four processing cores and 4.4 GHz (burst) each. Thanks to the compact design of 50 x 180 x 134 mm and the flexible DIN rail mounting option, the KBox A-150-WKL-AI-H8 can also be used easily in small installation spaces. The fanless, robust design with rotatable heat sink guarantees longevity as well as high availability in harsh industrial environments at temperatures between 0 °C and 50 °C.
Two serial RS232/422/485 interfaces allow the connection to the sensor and machine environment. For high connectivity, it has been equipped with numerous other interfaces, including two DisplayPort, four USB 3.1 and two Gigabit Ethernet connections with IEEE1588 support. In addition, the system offers 2x M.2 expansion slots, which can be used for integrating SSD storage or WWAN functionality, for example. Optionally, the KBox A-150-WKL-AI-H8 can be extended with WiFi or audio functionalities or even up to two CAN ports.
