Kontron extends its family of 11th Gen Intel® Core™ VX3060 rugged computers

High-performance processing, neural network acceleration and powerful graphics capabilities

Ismaning, June 01, 2022 - Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), today announces the VX3060, a high performance 3U VPX Single Board Computer, featuring 11th Gen Intel^® SoC technology, designed for demanding SWaP-C defense and railway applications.

Based on the low power Intel^® Core™ i7-1185GRE quad-core processor, the VX3060 supports specialized Vector Neural Network Instructions (VNNI) and Doubled Signal Processing performance (AVX512). Its Gen12 Gfx graphics engine provides up to 8K multi-head display interfaces and ensures maximum performance for computer vision and media processing - twice that of the previous generation. 11th Gen Intel^® Core™ U-Series also feature a software configurable TDP from 12W to 28W which makes the VX3060 adaptative for all kind of applications.

VX3060 is compatible with the previous generation architecture and with the following VITA65 OpenVPX profiles: SLT3-PAY-2F2U-14.2.3, SLT3-PAY-1F1F2U-14.2.4 and SLT3-PAY-1F1F2U1TU1T1U1T-14.2.16.

The VX3060 is available in air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions. Its multiple extensions allow developers to easily address a wide range of demanding mission critical applications. VX3060 can provide Hardware Root of Trust thanks to its TPM module and Kontron SEC-Line elements. A rich Linux™ BSP allows instant evaluation and benchmarking. A continuous flow of health data is available thanks to CMON-Line, its integrated remotely accessible CBIT service.

Other computers based on the 11th Gen Intel^® processor include the VX3060-S2, a 3U VPX blade supporting the  SOSA™ standard and the DARC™ VX208, a high-performance, rugged computer system.
