At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

With its FlatClient industrial HMI series, available as ECO and PRO version, Kontron offers high flexibility with respect to the design.The HMI comes in a full metal housing either for VESA mounting (stand-alone version) or for direct integration into machines or consoles (built-in version). All models feature an easy-clean, anti-glare and scratch-proof IP65 protected front glass. The front options offer a choice between either PCAP touch, resistive touch, or protection glass. Both versions of the FlatClient are available in numerous versions and display sizes from 7.0” up to 23.8” in either widescreen aspect ratios of 16:9 or 16:10 and standard aspect ratios of 4:3 and 5:4.

Intuitive multi-touch access to real-time actionable data makes the FlatClient the perfect fit for SCADA and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), process visualization and other control applications. The thoroughly modular design can be easily customized for a broad variety of applications, thus making it suitable across all industries which require visualization and processing of data.
