The BL Pi-Tron CM3+ from Kontron Electronics is a high-performance control platform optimized for industrial applications. Its primary focus is the integration of CODESYS, a leading hardware-independent development environment for programmable logic controllers in accordance with IEC 61131-3. Open interfaces and modern security features make the platform ready for Industry 4.0 and enable secure data exchange in IIoT networks.
Performance & Architecture
Equipped with a Broadcom BCM2837B0 featuring four ARM® Cortex®-A53 cores at 1.2 GHz, the BL Pi-Tron CM3+ offers 1 GB LPDDR2 RAM, up to 32 GB eMMC storage, 2 kB FRAM, and a 3D video engine. The platform is scalable and customizable, allowing for a seamless transition from Raspberry Pi prototype to series production. The components are supported by the Raspberry Pi community, which facilitates maintenance and updating of the Raspbian OS versions.
Communication Interfaces
A wide range of industrial interfaces and connections for sensors and actuators enable flexible use as a gateway or data logger. The architecture supports complex automation solutions with multifunction I/O modules and ensures robust connectivity even under harsh industrial conditions.

The BL Pi-Tron CM3+ is suitable for human-machine interfaces, industrial communication, M2M applications, home automation, POS displays, infotainment, and mobile systems. The active community provides a solid software foundation for the development and customization of solutions. Upon request, the evaluation board can be precisely adapted to customer requirements, or an individual new board can be developed for minimal series costs and optimal space utilization.
