Product Information

The OSM-S i.MX93 from Kontron Electronics is a state-of-the-art system-on-module that leverages the advantages of the OSM standard for demanding embedded applications. Its directly solderable design, free from plug-in connectors, enables particularly cost-effective and automated assembly. Featuring a powerful processor and a compact 30 x 30 mm form factor, the OSM-S i.MX93 provides an ideal solution for projects where a small footprint, energy efficiency, and high computing performance are all essential.

Performance & Architecture

The OSM-S i.MX93 is built on a dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 processor running at 1.7 GHz. With up to 2 GB of LPDDR4x RAM featuring inline ECC, it ensures data integrity and security, while up to 64 GB of eMMC provides ample storage capacity. The integrated Arm®-based Neural Processing Unit (NPU) Ethos™ U-65 micro delivers performance up to 0.5 TOPS, accelerating neural networks for demanding machine vision and AI applications. For smooth image data processing, the module features the Arm® Neon™ graphics unit.

Communication Interfaces

The compact, directly solderable module (30 mm x 30 mm) provides two CAN-FD interfaces and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, as well as serial display and camera interfaces, MIPI DSI with four lanes, MIPI CSI with two lanes. Camera systems can also be flexibly connected via LAN or USB. Additionally, one LAN port supports Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) for real-time data transmissions, simplifying integration into industrial automation environments.

Areas of Application & Advantages

Thanks to the EdgeLock® Secure Enclave, the module is prepared to meet the highest security requirements in IoT applications, such as industrial HMI, smart home, and edge computing. Its directly solderable design enables efficient automated assembly, testing, and programming. The wide range of interfaces, powerful NPU, and real-time co-processor make the OSM-S i.MX93 an ideal choice for cost-sensitive embedded projects in industrial automation, image processing, and intelligent energy management.
