Contact SupportThe CAN-bus option enables Kontron Hartmann-Wiener crates and power supplies to be part of a distributed control network. With this interface, a host computer can monitor and control a large number of crates through a resilient CAN network, accessing key system parameters like voltages, currents, temperatures, fan speeds, and error/status conditions. Because it supports up to 126 crates on one network and includes advanced messaging features (broadcast, priority, automatic error reporting), it is suitable for large installations with many power crates.
| Features | Supported Systems: WIENER VME / VME64x / VXI crates (5000 / 6000 families), NIM, CAMAC with fan tray and PL508 power supplies Network Size: Up to 126 crates per CAN network Control Functions: Remote on/off, SYSRES (for VME) Parameters Accessible Remotely (depending on power supply model): crate ID, voltages & currents, over/under-voltage trip points, current limits, temperature sensors (up to 8 per crate in VME 6000), fan speeds (average & individual), status signals, errors, configuration & adjustment Communication Protocol: Intelligent bus protocol (CMS-CAL compatible) supporting error messaging, broadcast & group functions, priority levels, equal rights among crates CAN-bus Termination: Requires 120 Ω resistors at both ends of the bus iseg-hv.com |
