Das ETX®-LX (Embedded Technology eXtended) ist ein hochintegriertes Computer-on-Module mit extrem niedrigem Energieverbrauch. Dank des implementierten AMD® LX800 Prozessors kann das Board ohne aktive Lüftung betrieben werden. Dies ist u.a. in Applikationen vorteilhaft, bei denen der zur Verfügung stehende Platz rar ist. Die Maximale Höhe des Boards ohne Heatspreader ist lediglich 10 mm! Mit kleinen Abmessungen (95 x 114 mm) bietet das ETX®-LX alle Standardinterfaces wie beispielsweise Sound und Grafik sowie 2x SATA und 4x USB 2.0. Der AC'97 kompatible Soundchip wird von den gängigsten Betriebssystemen unterstützt. Netzwerkanschluss findet das ETX®-LX über 10/100 Mbit Ethernet. Ein CompactFlash™ Sockel ist auf dem ETX®-LX bereits implementiert. Für Erweiterungen stehen zwei PATA Ports mit UDMA66 zur Verfügung. Sie unterstützten nicht nur den PCI Bus, sondern auch ISA-Signale. Viele bestehenden ISA Karten können so weiterhin auf den ISA-Slots der Carrierboards eingesetzt werden. Das vermeidet aufwendige und teure Redesigns und ermöglicht den Einsatz von sowohl etablierten ISA- als auch PCI-Karten für Standard PC Motherboards.
