Basierend auf einem pITX-2,5“ SBC mit Intel Atom® Prozessoren der E3900 Familie wurde die neue lüfterlose KBox A-250 als kostenoptimiertes Gateway für IoT-Edge-Anwendungen entwickelt. Anwendungsgebiete finden sich damit vor allem im Bereich der industriellen Automatisierung.
Die kompakte KBox A-250 bietet zahlreiche Schnittstellen, die die Anbindung an verschiedene Kommunikationsebenen ermöglicht: Für die lokale Datenerfassung, die Anbindung an das Sensor- oder Maschinenumfeld, ist eine serielle Schnittstelle (RS232/RS485) vorgesehen. Die Anbindung an das IT-Umfeld kann durch die integrierten Gigabit-Ethernet-Schnittstellen sowie die optionale WiFi-Unterstützung realisiert werden. Zusätzlich ist eine GPIO-Schnittstelle vorhanden. Funktechnologien wie LTE (4G) und GSM (2G/3G) werden unterstützt, ein integriertes LTE Modul kann als Option hinzugefügt werden.
