It features a compact 8U, 19″ enclosure with rear-intake/rear-exhaust cooling (RR), high-density modular power-supply options up to approximately 3 kW, and built-in remote monitoring.
The 6U VXI-C size 4600 RR Crate Series provides a high-density, high-performance VXI chassis in a rugged 8U form factor. It includes a monolithic 13-slot VXI backplane with active termination and automatic daisy-chain functionality, integrated into a steel–aluminum enclosure with precision mechanics. Cooling is achieved through a rear-mounted removable fan tray containing three high-efficiency, adjustable-speed DC fans with optional air filtering, supported by dedicated air compression and exhaust chambers.
Remote and local management is handled by an integrated shelf manager that enables thermal, fan, and power monitoring via an alphanumeric LED display, Ethernet, RS-232, and additional I/O controls. Power is supplied by modular, low-noise “Cavity-VHF” switching units with auto-range 94–260 V AC input and Power Factor Correction, supporting up to approximately 3 kW total output.
With a weight of around 15 kg and dimensions of 19″ × 8U × 480 mm, this crate is ideally suited for demanding automated test and scientific instrumentation environments.
