Rugged 3U VPX XMC Carrier for Flexible I/O, AI and Sensor Processing
The Kontron VX3810 is a rugged 3U VPX XMC carrier designed to extend VPX systems with application-specific I/O, networking, video and compute acceleration.
It provides an x8 PCIe interface up to Gen4 and supports a wide range of XMC modules, including field-bus interfaces, graphics, FPGA and AI accelerators. This makes the VX3810 well suited for defense, aerospace and other mission-critical embedded systems requiring flexible expansion without redesigning the main processing platform.
Developed in alignment with the SOSA® Technical Standard, the VX3810 supports defined OpenVPX profiles and helps simplify integration into modular, interoperable architectures.
The board is available in air-cooled and rugged conduction-cooled variants, with the RC version supporting operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C. An integrated IPMI controller with VITA 46.11 Tier 3 support provides board health monitoring and out-of-band system management.
Typical applications include mission computer I/O expansion, AI and sensor fusion, video acquisition, tactical communications and high-speed networking.
