Product Information
The Kontron Hartmann Wiener VME64x 3U Series 165 is designed for compact, high-performance VME64x systems. It is available with 3, 9, 10, or 21 slots and features a consistent slot pitch of 4 HP or 20.32 mm.
For daisy chaining and bus grant, the series supports both an electronic automatic configuration using an OR gate and a manual configuration using jumpers or wire-wrap on request. According to the product specifications, active and passive termination are supported. The published part-number table lists active variants.
The backplane provides high current capacity per slot. It supports up to 12.5 A at +3.3 V, 9.0 A at +5 V, and an additional +48 V supply ranging from 38 to 75 V with up to 3.0 A per slot. Power is connected through a terminal bar or an M6 screw terminal.
The RF-optimized PCB design uses FR-4 material and complies with the ANSI/VITA 1.1-1997 base specification. A continuous chassis-ground surface and capacitive RF coupling between the rack and system ground support reliable operation in demanding industrial, military, medical, telecommunications, transportation, and aerospace applications.
