VXS
VXS, defined by ANSI/VITA 41, extends the proven VME64x architecture with high-speed serial switched fabrics for significantly higher data throughput. While maintaining full backward compatibility with VME64x modules and backplanes, VXS adds differential P0 connectors supporting up to 3.125 Gb/s per lane, enabling multi-gigabyte per second bandwidth.
The system retains the Eurocard 6U × 160 mm form factor and typical 12–21-slot crate configurations, combining the legacy VME parallel bus (J1/J2) with modern serial point-to-point links. Standard backplane voltages are +5 V and ±12 V.
VXS bridges traditional VME technology with switched serial communication, delivering scalable, low-latency performance for advanced embedded and industrial applications.
