Product Information

The PiXtend® V2 -L- ePLC® PRO Pi 4 der Kontron Electronics is a modern, programmable logic controller based on the Raspberry Pi 4. This robust, complete unit in a DIN rail housing made of aluminum is designed for industrial use and, thanks to industry-standard connection technology and comprehensive documentation, simplifies integration into existing systems.

Performance & Architecture

Equipped with the Broadcom BCM2711 Quad Core Arm® Cortex®-A72 processor running at 1.5 GHz and offering up to 8 GB of RAM, the controller delivers high performance. The integrated passive heatsink ensures reliable operation. Digital and analog inputs and outputs, a 64-byte retain memory, as well as various expansion options via PiXtend® eIO provide flexibility for a wide range of applications.

Communication Interfaces

The PiXtend® V2 -L- ePLC® PRO Pi 4 offers the following communication interfaces: CAN bus, RS232, RS485, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, Micro-HDMI, as well as USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. The high-performance Gigabit Ethernet interface enables interference-free, high-speed data transmission, making it especially suitable for industrial applications that require fast and reliable communication. Additional sensors and actuators can be integrated via Modbus and PiXtend® eIO. All interfaces are implemented according to PLC standard (IEC 61131-2), ensuring reliability and safety in industrial environments.

Fields of Application & Advantages

The PiXtend® V2 -L- ePLC® PRO Pi 4 is perfectly suited for machine and plant engineering. The controller can be programmed flexibly using CODESYS® V3, C, Python, FHEM, or Node-RED. Six PWM outputs allow direct control of drives or servos. Wiring is straightforward, and high-quality terminals ensure secure connections. The visible versions and detailed documentation make implementation easier, ideal for demanding automation projects.
