At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

COM Express® Starterkit w/ Reference Carrier Type 2

The small size of the carrier boards supports both COM Express® basic (125x95mm) and COM Express® compact modules (95x95mm).

Starterkits are complete care-free kits packaged in a single case. They include a Reference Carrier Board which provide an easy plug-in of COM Express® modules and line-up many connectors and jacks. Those complete packages include everything needed for an immediate and efficient start and evaluation: PSU, Mass Storage, documentation and cooler.

Please order your COM Express® module with heatspreader and memory module separately.

For the US market, the Starterkit includes a COMe-cSP1 module by default. Details of this kit are available in the downloadable Quick Reference Guide.
