The AL Pi-Tron CM3+ from Kontron Electronics is a compact industrial box PC designed for DIN rail mounting, featuring a stainless-steel housing (111 x 25 x 76 mm) compliant with EN 60715 and suitable for applications within a temperature range of 0 °C to +55 °C. The operating system used is Raspbian Linux (not pre-installed).
Performance & Architecture
The box PC is based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+ and is available in versions with up to 32 GB eMMC storage or as a Lite version with a microSD card slot. Power supply is provided at 24 V DC (±20%), with consumption ranging from 3.4 W to 9.6 W (without peripherals). The passive cooling concept ensures reliable continuous operation.
Communication Interfaces
The device features numerous industrial interfaces: 2x Ethernet (10/100 Mbit/s), 2x USB 2.0 Host, 1x USB 2.0 OTG (for eMMC programming only), RS232, RS485, 4x digital inputs/outputs (24 V/up to 800 mA), 1x Micro-HDMI (1.3a, 1080p @30 fps), and CAN. Expansions are possible through multifunction I/O modules.
