MediView medical monitor and new 23.8" MediClient variant complement Kontron's medical technology portfolio

Monitor and all-in-one Panel PC with special anti-glare and anti-fingerprint touchscreen for high hygienic requirements in the medical sector

Ismaning, October 13, 2022 - Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), introduces the new MediView medical monitor and a 23.8" variant of the already available MediClient Panel PC that meet the high hygiene and connectivity requirements in the medical and healthcare sector. Both monitor and Panel PC are compliant with DIN EN 60601-1 and are particularly suitable for applications in nurses’ stations, operating rooms, intensive care units, laboratories as well as pharmacies and clean rooms.
 
With its robust, joint-free front made of continuous tempered glass, MediView and MediClient are easy to clean. The rear of the device, made of powder-coated stainless steel, is just as easy to clean and disinfect and ensures long-term mechanical stability. Both Panel PC and monitor variants are available with displays in 21.5" and 23.8" formats respectively. The PCAP touch display with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint surface finish is easy to read even in difficult lighting conditions.
 
Both the Panel PC MediClient, equipped with Intel® Core™ i5-8365UE or Intel® Celeron® 4305UE processors, and the MediView monitor can be operated even with double-layered medical gloves; the touchscreen detects drops (drop rejection) and supports palm rejection. Easy integration into the infrastructure is enabled by the integrated power supply, which is isolated according to EN 60601-1. Data transfer between different medical devices and hospital information systems is ensured by wireless interfaces (WiFi, BT) and the EN 60601-1 certified and isolated interfaces. In addition, the MediClient supports the SDC standard (Service-oriented Device Connectivity) and thus standardized communication across manufacturer boundaries.
 
The fanless MediClient is shock and vibration resistant and offers numerous standard interfaces with compact dimensions, including 4 x USB 3.2 Gen 2, 2 x GbE (2 MOOP), 3 x RS232 (2 MOOP) and 2 x DP++. The MediView monitor variant is equipped with one USB, DVI and DisplayPort interface each. Thanks to VESA 100 mounting, both Panel PC and monitor can be easily mounted on swivel arms or wall mounts.
