As DSEI 2025 approaches, Kontron UK is preparing to showcase a wide range of rugged, defence-ready computing systems built to meet the evolving demands of the modern battlespace. From high-performance edge servers to compact, mission-critical platforms, our focus is on enabling capability—securely, reliably, and at scale.

To provide a preview of what visitors can expect, David Johnson, Managing Director of Kontron UK sat down with Kurt Spencer, Sales Director, to discuss the company’s presence at the show, the technologies being featured, and the role Kontron plays in delivering scalable defence solutions across the globe.

David Johnson (Managing Director, Kontron UK):
Kurt, DSEI is just around the corner. From your perspective, why should visitors make time to come and see us this year?

Kurt Spencer (Sales Director, Kontron UK):
Because this year’s stand reflects exactly what we’re about: capability, reliability, and forward-looking technology. We’re showcasing systems that address real operational needs—particularly in rugged, secure, high-performance edge computing. If you're involved in platform modernisation, secure networking, or edge AI, we’ve got solutions that are worth seeing first-hand.

David:
So we’re not just exhibiting hardware—we’re focusing on capability integration?

Kurt:
That’s right. Everything we’re bringing is designed for application in demanding defence environments. Our technologies are already in use across land, air, and maritime programmes. They’re built to operate in the field, not just in the lab.

David:
Let’s talk specifically—we’ve got the Kontron CG2500, but it’s not the only product we’re highlighting this year.

Kurt:
It is. The CG2500 is a robust, high-performance edge server—ideal for forward-deployed environments. It’s built to handle high data volumes, support real-time processing, and operate reliably in harsh conditions. Whether it’s used for tactical communications, sensor fusion, or mission data management, it delivers enterprise-grade performance in a defence-ready form factor.

David:
And it’s not just the CG2500. We’re also showcasing the Cobalt S1901, a compact, ultra-rugged system built for high-reliability deployable environments, and Harakan, which is engineered specifically for high-performance edge compute in harsh conditions. Together, these platforms show the breadth of Kontron’s defence offering.

David:
And it’s all backed by a global capability, right?

Kurt:
Absolutely. That’s a big part of what makes us different. Kontron operates globally, with engineering and manufacturing across Europe, North America, and Asia—but here in the UK, we’re also fully focused on local delivery and support. We combine global scale with the ability to meet specific programme needs, whether that's security, compliance, or tight integration timelines.

David:
That global reach really adds confidence, especially for customers who need scalable, long-term solutions.

 Kurt:
It does. We're able to support programmes from prototype through to volume production, with full lifecycle services. For many of our defence partners, knowing we’re structured to deliver both innovation and continuity is a key reason they work with us.

David:
We’ve also put considerable thought into how we present ourselves this year. The stand design supports that message, doesn’t it?

Kurt:
Definitely. The layout is open, modern, and purpose-built to support real engagement. We’ve made space for detailed technical discussions, live product demos, and one-to-one meetings. It’s a professional environment where visitors can see the technology in context and speak directly with our team about their requirements.

David:
It feels more aligned with how our customers work—focused, practical, collaborative.

Kurt:
Exactly. We want to demonstrate that we’re not just a technology vendor—we’re a partner in delivering capability. Whether you’re part of the MOD, a Tier 1 integrator, or a specialist SME, we’re here to understand what you need and offer proven, adaptable solutions.

 David:
And DSEI 2025 is a good moment to show that evolution.

Kurt:
It is. For us, it’s not just about visibility—it’s about reinforcing Kontron’s role as a trusted, responsive partner to the defence sector. We’re ready to support current programmes and future developments, and DSEI is the right place to have those conversations.

David:
Well said. We’re looking forward to welcoming new and existing contacts to the stand.

Kurt:
Likewise. If you’re exploring reliable, mission-ready computing solutions, we’d welcome the opportunity to speak with you at DSEI.
