DEDICACE

Build trust in every embedded system from factory floor to field deployment. Protect what is critical.

The growing complexity of embedded systems, combined with rising cyber threats, calls for traceability, control and confidence.
Developed by Kontron with KeeeX, the DEDICACE solution introduces the Digital Computer Passport (DCP): a practical and robust way to track and verify the integrity of industrial computers throughout their entire lifecycle.

Why DEDICACE matters

Industrial computers are embedded in essential infrastructure: energy, transport, defense, healthcare. Yet their journey from manufacturing to operation is rarely monitored end-to-end.

DEDICACE helps to:

  • Lock system from the very first stage.

  • Protect them during shipping and integration

  • Track configuration changes reliably

  • Stay aligned with evolving EU regulations (CRA, NIS2, DPP)

Digital Computer Passport (DCP): Digital Trust from Fabrication to Deployment.

DEDICACE is a DCP service for supply chain protection of critical infrastructure computers.

It features a central microchip with a padlock, surrounded by icons representing manufacturing, shipping, control, operations, and a cloud. To the right, text highlights "Factory secured computers," "Complete Life Cycle Traceability," and "Cyber Resilience Act Compliance."

The Challenge

Many embedded systems are delivered and operated without robust methods to verify how they were built, configured, or modified. Manufacturers often lack secure ways to prove the origin or integrity of devices. Integrators can’t validate what happens between handover points. And operators may be unaware of unauthorized changes once the system is in the field. Without end-to-end visibility, these systems become vulnerable to tampering, misconfigurations and non-compliance with cybersecurity regulations.

The Solution

The DEDICACE solution introduces a Digital Computer Passport (DCP), a practical tool for ensuring the integrity and lifecycle traceability of embedded computers.
Based on the Digital Product Passport (DPP) framework, it is dedicated to electronic products such as computers and calculators.

With DCP

Devices are securely signed and locked during production

Runtime integrity is regularly checked against the original configuration

Every handover is recorded and verified

System changes are logged in a tamper-proof register

DCP

A set of systems is locked after production. They remain unusable until verified and activated by the intended user. All changes made over time are securely recorded, giving operators a complete, trusted system history.
