Introduction

  Note: using this BSP requires a solid knowledge about Windows XP embedded and
  the Windows XP Embedded Design Suite! 

  This Board Support Package (BSP) supports the
  Kontron A8001 board family for Windows XP embedded.
  (see List of supported Kontron Boards and supported devices)

  The BSP contains files which will be imported into the WXPE Database repository
  and files (help files, demo source files etc.) which are not imported into the
  repository.

Installation

   System Requirements: 
   Windows XP Embedded Design Suite

   Installation procedure:
   (Before installing read important notes)
   - Create an empty directory folder and unpack the WXPE_BSP_A8001_R10.zip file in this directory. 
   - Open the WXPe Database Manager.  
   - Import the A8001.sld file into the Windows XP Embedded Database (for
     detailed instructions please refer to UserGuide_SLD_import.chm file).

Important note:
The second VGA adapter will not be activated by FBA! 

The second VGA adapter is required for using the DVI port.
This adapter will not be activated by running the FBA!
If you need to use a monitor connected to the DVI port of a 
8HP CP305/CP307 you must activate the second VGA adapter 
manually by using the following procedure (after the FBA has run):
 

   
make sure the Device Manager and Add Hardware Control Panel components are included in your target configuration
   
open the device manager and expand the Display Adapter node
   
right click on Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
   
select Uninstall
   
in the top menu click Action
   
select Scan for hardware changes
   
the HardwareWizard opens: click on "No, not this time"
   
click on "Next" and select "Install software automatically"
   
click "Next"

 the second Display Adapter "Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family"
 shoud be activated now. 

Restrictions

        RAID/AHCI support is valid for CP307 boards only!

BSP contents

  Part of the BSP files are intended for demonstration purposes and as
  reference sources for developers. These files are not imported into the 
  repository (see list of demo files). All other files are required
  for support of the A8001 board family and will be imported into the repository. 
  You will find a list of all files contained in this BSP below.
  

The following files are intended for developers who want to implement
KOM system functions into their own applications. 
These files will not be copied to the WXPe repository. 
(For detaild information refer to the list of help files in 
this documentation.)
