Der CarrierGrade Server TIGW1U ist ein NEBS-3 und ETSI-konformer Rackserver. Er unterstützt den Intel® Xeon® Prozessor L5410 sowie die 64-bit Intel® Xeon® Prozessoren LV 5148 und LV 5128.
Dieser Server ist eine ausgezeichnete Wahl für das anspruchsvolle Umfeld und den begrenzten Raum in Vermittlungsstellen und Hochverfügbarkeits-Rechenzentren. Er ist auch ideal ausgelegt für Service over IP (SoIP) Applikationen der nächsten Tele- und Datenkommunikationsgeneration. Der Intel® basierte Carrier Grade Server Kontron TIGW1U wird als Standard-Baustein angeboten und ermöglicht es OEMs und TEMs, ihre eigenen Mehrwert-Lösungen für eine Vielzahl von Telekommunikations-Applikationen zu entwickeln. Zu den Anwendungen zählen beispielsweise Unified Messaging, SoIP, Anrufsteuerung, Medien-und Signalisierungs-Gateways sowie operativer Systemsupport. Darüber hinaus setzt der TIGW1U die Messlatte für Telekommunikations-Lösungen höher: Er unterstützt die Intel® I/O Acceleration Technology (Intel® I/ OAT), die Intel® 64-Technologie (Intel® 64) sowie die Dual-Channel Fully-Buffered DIMM (FB-DIMM) Technologie mit entweder 533 oder 667 MHz für eine maximale Bandbreite.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES (found in HarbisonReleaseNotes.txt) If a BMC is installed and functional: 1) Update the BMC firmware using UpFW.bat. 2) Update the SDR & FRUs with the FRU/SDR package. To recover non-functional BMC (possible if M28W flash part has v00.27 or earlier applied): 1) Copy the update files from this release package to the media (Hard Drive, USB Disk-on-Key, Floppy...) that you wish to perform the update from. 2) Update the BMC flash by running UpPFlash.bat. You must then A/C power cycle with power off for at least 30 seconds. 3) Update the SDR & FRUs with the FRU/SDR package. 4) Subsequent updates of the BMC FW should use UpFW.bat.
