Kontron ETXexpress Product Family Largest in Embedded Market

San Jose, April 4, 2007 – Kontron announced today that it is showcasing the Kontron ETXexpress-CD – a COM Express solution – at the Embedded Systems Conference in Northern California’s Silicon Valley this week. The launch of the new variation of the Kontron ETXexpress-CD module represents the latest addition to the company’s extensive line of 100 percent COM Express-compliant products with more on the way before the end of the second quarter of this year.

Built around the energy-efficient Intel processor and paired with the feature-rich Mobile Intel® 945 GM Express chipset / ICH7M Southbridge combination, the Kontron ETXexpress-CD is an improved fit for the multitude of small embedded applications that are temperature and power sensitive.

Key features of the Kontron ETXexpress-CD module include:
• Intel Core 2 Duo (up to 2.2GHz) and Core™ Duo Processors with the Intel 945 GM Express chipset
• Integrated GMA950 Graphics w/ Dual Channel LVDS Support, plus PCI Express Graphics 1 x16lanes
• Up to 2GB Dual Channel System Memory
• Up to 5x PCI Express Lanes, 8x USB 2.0 and 2x Serial ATA
• 10/100/1000 Ethernet for high-speed communications
• Complete with TPM and Phoenix BIOS Trusted Core ensuring the highest level of system security

Sample units of the Kontron ETXexpress-CD featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo processor are anticipated to be available in the coming months with pricing targeted to start at $1200 in small quantities.

Kontron Committed to ETXexpress – a COM Express solution
Kontron also announced that additional ETXexpress modules built around the Intel Core 2 Duo processor are under development and will be launched in the near future. A refresh of the ETXexpress-WPM COM Express “Basic” form factor module using pin-out type 3 as well as an ETXexpress module in the COM Express “Extended” form factor are planned. Kontron will launch a new ETXexpress in the COM Express “Basic” form factor that utilizes the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and advanced chipset technology this summer.
