KONTRON MOBILE COMPUTING INTRODUCES TRANSRADIANT DISPLAY; WILL DEMONSTRATE AT AFCEA WEST 2004

Provides Superior Indoor and Outdoor Viewing in All Ambient Light Conditions

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - (Feb. 2, 2004) - Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), a leading supplier of rugged mobile computers for field-deployed professionals, today unveiled its newest technology -- the Kontron TransRadiant Display.

Utilizing a combination of advanced transmissive and transflective display technologies with passive enhancements, TransRadiant Display technology delivers superior brightness in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions while requiring no more power than a standard notebook display. The TransRadiant Display operates at 250 NITs, compared to standard notebook displays operating at 130 NITs.

"TransRadiant Display technology offers significant advancements over both transmissive and transflective display technologies," said Dale Szymborski, president. "Transflective displays offer limited resolution, poor performance in lighting other than direct sunlight, and comparatively weak color and contrast radios. Transmissive displays offer good performance and resolution but require high levels of power. Low-power, high-resolution TransRadiant Display technology excels in direct sunlight and overcast conditions as well as high-light indoor environments. It´s a perfect match for the demands of the mobile user working in the field."

Kontron, which expects to begin offering the TransRadiant Display as an option with its FieldWorks 8000/8500 and ReVolution rugged, mobile computers in 2004, continues to lead in display innovation. Kontron´s current EnVoy in-vehicle system has the brightest transmissive display among available in-vehicle computers at 1400 NITs. With TransRadiant technology in the FieldWorks 8000/8500 and ReVolution product lines, Kontron will offer the brightest indoor and outdoor display solutions available.

Kontron Mobile Computing will demonstrate TransRadiant Display technology at the Kontron booth (#134) at West 2004, which runs February 3-5, 2004, in San Diego. Sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), West 2004 is the largest conference and exhibition on the West Coast for communications, electronics, intelligence, information systems, imaging and other related fields.

More details about the Kontron TransRadiant Display, including availability, will be announced at a later date. Customers may contact Kontron Mobile Computing at 1-888-343-5396 for more information.
