At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.
Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.
Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

Ad-Hoc: Kontron AG announces share buyback
Eching, Munich, January 25, 2008. Today, the management board of Kontron AG has passed a resolution, based on the authorization of the Annual General Meeting of June 27, 2007, to repurchase up to 1,500,000 company shares, equaling up to 3 % of the companys equity capital.
The buyback of shares will be conducted by way of the stock exchange. According to the authorization, the price the company pays for the shares (excluding incidental acquisition costs) must not exceed or fall below the respective closing price in XETRA trading (or a functionally comparable subsequent system replacing the XETRA system) on the Frankfurt stock exchange on the trading day preceding the buyback by more than 10 %.
