At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.

Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.

Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

FlatClient

With its FlatClient industrial HMI series, available as ECO and PRO version, Kontron offers high flexibility with respect to the design. It can be installed as a standalone solution (full-metal) with VESA 75/75 or 100/100, as well as a built-in solution. All models feature an easy-clean, anti-glare and scratch-proof IP65 protected front glass. The front options offer a choice between either PCAP touch, resistive touch, or protection glass. Both versions of the FlatClient are available from 7.0" to 23.8", which can be operated in both landscape and portrait format.

For applications with high hygiene standards there are variants with IP69K protection available, for control rooms there are special versions with ultra narrow frame and remote multi-display adjustment, as well as special formats for 19" rackmounting.
