Kontron joins NFV.net

Vendor Forum Co-Founded by Sandvine Dedicated to Accelerating the Adoption of NFV

Augsburg, GERMANY, October 13, 2015 – Kontron today announced that Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, has accepted it to join NFV.net, a forum of leading technology vendors dedicated to fostering adoption of network functions virtualization (NFV).
 
NFV.net is an invitation-only alliance of best-of-breed vendors, with only one or two key players representing each key network function. Members are selected both for their technology and thought leadership, as well as full commitment to delivering a real-life, demonstrable, pre-integrated solution with other partners in NFV.net.
 
Kontron was selected to join NFV.net due to their expertise and leadership in designing both carrier grade and telco cloud commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms, such as the SYMKLOUD Series of converged modular servers. These high-density and ultra-dependable platforms are ideal for massively scalable SDN and NFV infrastructure deployments.
 
In a single 2U enclosure, Kontron SYMKLOUD platforms pack up to nine hot-swappable modular servers (each with single or dual independent x86 nodes) and two OpenFlow-ready 10GbE switches – greatly improving the economics of CSP infrastructure.
