Kontron Mobile Computing Names Steve Hanges Director of Marketing

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. May 15, 2002 - Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), a leading supplier of rugged, mobile computers for field-deployed professionals, today announced that Steve Hanges has been named the company´s director of marketing.

In his new position, Hanges will lead planning and implementation of the company´s worldwide marketing program, including product strategy, market and channel management, sales and marketing communications, advertising and public relations.

"Steve´s track record is one not only of breadth and depth of marketing experience but also of results," said Dale Szymborski, president. "Throughout his career, he´s shown a proven ability to spearhead creative, successful technology marketing programs within complex, fast-changing markets such as our own. A 20-year-plus veteran of business-to-business technology marketing, Hanges served most recently in senior global marketing positions at I-TECH Corp., Eden Prairie, Minn., a manufacturer of test and analysis equipment, and at Datacard Corporation, Minnetonka, Minn., a supplier of plastic card personalization, identification and smart card systems. He also has served as an independent marketing and communications consultant for technology and manufacturing companies in the U.S. and abroad.

Hanges holds an M.A. from the University of Toronto (Ontario), and a B.A. from Georgia State University, Atlanta.
