KONTRON MOBILE COMPUTING INTRODUCES NEW, ENTRY-LEVEL VERSION OF RUGGED NOTEBOOK PC: THE REVOLUTION E SERIES

Launches Two Models Tailored for Automation, Testing and Mobile Data Communications Applications

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (Mar. 9, 2004) Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), a leading supplier of rugged mobile computers for field-deployed professionals, today introduced the ReVolution E Series -- two new, entry-level models of the company´s award-winning ReVolution rugged notebook PC.

"Since the introduction of the ReVolution in 2002, we´ve often heard from our customers that they would like a lower-priced, streamlined version of the product that still delivers the military standard ruggedness and reliability for which Kontron products have always been known," said Dale Szymborski, president. "With the ReVolution E Series, we offer a new, aggressively priced alternative for customers who do not require a convertible screen and who previously had only consumer-grade ´tough´ notebook PCs from which to choose."

The ReVolution E Series is designed to support automation and testing, manufacturing automation, vehicle maintenance, mobile data communications, and similar applications requiring long hours of mobile operation in field environments both indoors and out.

The ReVolution E Series comprises two notebook models, the ReVolution E and the ReVolution ES. Both models are now available. List prices start at $3,395 (actual pricing will vary based on quantity and specific configurations). Customers may contact Kontron Mobile Computing at 1-888-343-5396 for more information.

Both E Series notebook models feature the Intel ® Pentium ® III Processor M at 1.06GHz, a 40 GB hard drive (higher capacities available), a 12.1" XGA display, a sealed keyboard, a three-year warranty and construction built and tested to Mil-Std 810F specifications for use in field and harsh environments. They support Windows 2000 and XP operating systems.

The ReVolution ES model also features Kontron´s new TransRadiant Display technology. Utilizing a combination of advanced transmissive and transflective display technologies with passive enhancements, the TransRadiant display delivers superior brightness in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions while requiring no more power than a standard notebook display.

In related announcements today, Kontron also announced the new ReVolution X Series, featuring convertible displays and wireless capabilities, and the new ReVolution T Series -- featuring a digitized, convertible touch screen based on the Microsoft Tablet PC operating system.
