Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc., Formerly FieldWorks, Inc., Completes Name Change, Acquires New Ticker Symbol

Eden Prairie, Minn., May 15, 2001 - Officials of Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), today announced the completion of the companys name change process by formally amending its articles of incorporation to replace "FieldWorks, Incorporated" with "Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc." The change became effective on June 4, 2001, following a filing with the Minnesota Secretary of States office.

The company, which began doing business under the new name on April 16, 2001, also announced that it has been assigned a new ticker symbol: KMBC. The new ticker symbol, which replaces the symbol FWRX, becomes effective with the opening of trading this morning. The company is traded on the U.S. Over the Counter Bulletin Board.

"Our customers and business partners have responded well as weve introduced our new name and explained the significance of our relationship with the Kontron group of companies," said Thomas Sparrvik, president and CEO. The changes follow the acquisition of a majority share in the company by Kontron Embedded Computers AG, Munich, Germany, via a series of transactions that closed in late 2000. The company has retained the name "FieldWorks" as a brand name for several of its most rugged mobile computers.
