EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (Mar. 9, 2004) Kontron Mobile Computing, Inc. (OTC BB: KMBC), a leading supplier of rugged mobile computers for field-deployed professionals, today announced an expansion of its ReVolution product line.

The ReVolution, Kontron´s award-winning rugged mobile notebook, now is available in five different models ranging from entry-level systems to models including advanced features such as a sunlight-readable TransRadiant display, convertible displays, touch screens, and wireless capabilities.

"Field-deployed professionals need rugged notebooks, but no two users´ needs are exactly alike," said Dale Szymborski, president. "In expanding the ReVolution line, we´re responding to our customers who want the power and advantages of the product as well as feature sets closely tailored to their specific requirements."

The five new ReVolution models are offered within three series (see separate announcements for details about each series):

 the ReVolution E Series, featuring entry-level models E and ES, designed for applications such as those supporting automation, test and measurement, manufacturing, vehicle maintenance, and mobile data communications.
 the ReVolution X Series, featuring models XT and XTS with convertible displays and wireless capabilities, designed for OEMs, system integrators, and large field fleets that require the convenience both of a tablet and a keyboard housed within a package ruggedized to military specifications. Well-suited for logistics and inventory management, and signature capture applications.
 the ReVolution T Series, featuring model TPC, a Tablet PC notebook with a convertible, digitized touch screen display and other advanced features, designed for applications such as handwriting recognition and remote field data entry.

All ReVolution models feature the Intel ® Pentium ® III Processor M at 1.06GHz or higher, a 40GB shock and vibration resistant removable hard drive (higher capacities available), a three-year warranty, two battery bays or one drive bay, 10-24VDC power input, and magnesium alloy construction built and tested to Mil-Std 810F and sealed to Mil-Std 810F specifications for use in the field and in harsh environments. All support Windows 2000 and XP operating systems, with the exception of the TPC Edition, which supports the Tablet PC operating system.

The new ReVolution models featuring a sunlight-readable display, the ES and the XTS, incorporate Kontron´s new TransRadiant Display technology. Utilizing a combination of advanced transmissive and transflective display technologies with passive enhancements, the TransRadiant display delivers superior brightness in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions while requiring no more power than a standard notebook display. The TransRadiant Display operates at 250 NITs, compared to standard notebook displays operating at 130 NITs.
