Kontron embedded systems to integrate McAfee Control

Kontron steps up security for IoT applications

Eching, Germany, June 30, 2014 – Kontron announced today the support of McAfee Control technologies for its industrial computer systems. By integrating McAfee’s comprehensive new security and code protection features, Kontron is stepping up security for the vast number of new ‘Internet of Things’ applications currently being launched in the market. With this enhanced protection, Kontron is also extending the application readiness of its German quality-manufactured ‘wartungsfrei’ (maintenance-free) platforms. Application engineers benefit from a shorter time-to-market and reduced implementation costs.

“Implementing enhanced security functions into any new ‘Internet of Things’ application is mandatory. But our customers lack the time and resources to carry out these intrinsic implementations on their own. That’s why we have set up a security enhancement program for our industrial computing platforms to make them more secure by design as well as by added software services,“ explains Marcel van Helten, Head of Business Unit Industrial. “One of the first steps within this program is to support McAfee Control solutions for our box, panel and rackmount PCs via Arrow OCS. So, with immediate effect, we have a new and proven integration service in place.”

McAfee Control implementations are application software-specific and available on a project basis. Implementations of McAfee Integrity Control, McAfee Application Control or McAfee Embedded Control will be supported on Kontron industrial computer systems such as box, panel and rackmount PCs.
