SPS 2014: Kontron presents a new COMe Module with SoC of the AMD G-Series

The Computer-on-Module cSE6 prevails with its Robust Design and High-End Technology

Augsburg, November 2014 – Kontron, the leading provider of embedded computing technology, presents the new COM Express Computer-on-Module Kontron COMe-cSE6 at this year’s SPS. It was designed with a compact form factor (95 x 95 mm) and makes very robust and completely maintenance-free system designs possible. The new GX processors of the AMD G-Series are used on the COMe-cSE6. The new module will be used in, for example, performance-intensive multi-touch display systems, which however have limited power consumption. Examples of this are HMIs in automation or in medical image processing, for digital signage, point-of-sale as well as in surveillance and security systems. In addition, the module addresses the quickly growing market for industrial tablet PCs for industries such as logistics, retail or production.
 
COMe-cSE6 in detail
The Kontron COMe-cSE6 are highly scalable and make it possible to use dual-core processors up to high-end quad-core. The use of AMD embedded technology results in the highest graphics resolution on common HD displays. The company ensures support for up to ten years. Up to 16 GB DDR3L dual channel RAM can be used on the module. Three independent display outputs are installed. Two are configured as DP++ (DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI) and one as Dual-Channel LVDS. Hence, the module is also suitable for displays in the industrial sector. Two SATA connectors with 6 Gbit/s, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), 2x USB 3.0 and 6x USB 2.0 are also available as well as two serial ports (only RX/TX). In addition, the module has an HD audio chip. Individual extensions can be connected via 1x PCIe x1. The COMe-cSE6 supports Microsoft Windows 8 and 7, WE8S, WES7 and Linux.
