At the field, or edge level, data is collected by industrial computers, e.g. by gateways, which process, filter, analyze and act on these data in real-time right at the device.
Edge, fog and cloud applications demand increasing computing power. The interfaces to sensors or machines often require non-standard solutions. Especially in smaller machines, space is limited or restricted in some dimension and need a special solution.
Today, the connection from the sensor device to the embedded cloud takes place via real-time data communication, on sensor and edge level - for example Industrial Ethernet or fieldbuses - and gateways , which provide the transformation of real time data into the informational area.

Kontron at PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2002 in Beijing

Kontron Shanghai participated 5-day PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2002, which kicked off in Beijing at Nov. 2. This is The largest telecom/IT event in Asia, with its over 20 years history in China. The show took place at the China International Exhibition Center(CIEC) in Beijing.
As China ranks as the worlds largest growth market for telecommunications equipment and services, more than 350,000 attendees from China and throughout the Pacific Rim and 700 exhibiting companies representing 30 nations from around the world have come together at the fair.
Group image and the products from Kontron companies all over the world are presented to the customers, CompactPCI, Mobile, Industrial computers. To concentrate on telecommunication industry, Kontron Shanghai prepared the latest high-tech CPCI technology boards, chassis, systems and solutions, e.g. VoIP, PICMG2.16, H.110, for the show.

FieldWorks 8000, constructed to a live video-audio storage-transmission/ tele-conferencing solution, combined with third partys real-time video camera, and Inmarsat M4 terminals.
FieldLite, provided an individual mobile information station, in conjunction with local vendors PCMCIA GPS card.
