Augsburg, GERMANY, March 02, 2015 – Kontron and Vantrix, a global provider of media optimization and delivery solutions to service and content providers, will preview at Mobile World Congress a highly competitive speech processing solution implemented on Intel® architecture that can double the performance of hardware solutions based on digital signal processors (DSPs).
 
The outcome of this collaboration is a compelling game-changer for carriers who seek optimized network performance levels and reduced costs for various speech transcoding applications – such as VoLTE and webRTC – deployed in cloud-based Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) infrastructures.
 
Developed on the Kontron SYMKLOUD converged modular 2U COTS server, the Vantrix speech transcoding software solution takes full advantage of the Iris Pro GTe3 Graphics Engines (GPU) of the Intel® Core i7-4860EQ processor, optimized by the Intel®  Media Server Development Kit. This keeps the processor free to run additional concurrent applications.
